Affiliate disclosure
Plain English, on this page rather than buried in terms, because that is what the rules require and what a reader deserves before clicking anything.
What an affiliate link is
An affiliate link identifies this site as the source of your visit. If you later create an account or subscribe, the vendor pays us a share of what you spend. Depending on the programme, that is either a one-off payment or a percentage of each payment for as long as you remain a customer.
Affiliate links on this site are marked in the text around them and carry rel="sponsored nofollow" in the markup. They route through go.cheaperstack.com, a redirect on our own domain, before reaching the vendor.
Which links are affiliate links
Not most of them. We link to free tools, to vendor pages and to competitors with no affiliate programme at all, because a comparison that only mentions tools that pay is not a comparison. Where a page contains an affiliate link, it carries a disclosure above the recommendation, not below it.
What it does not change
- No position in any table or roundup is for sale.
- No vendor pays for inclusion, ranking or a recommendation.
- No vendor sees a page before publication.
- Commission rates are not a comparison criterion. The published method is.
- Where the honest recommendation is a free tool or keeping the tool you have, that is what the page says.
Current commercial relationships
As of the date below, CheaperStack participates in two affiliate programmes:
- GrowGanic: recurring commission on paid subscriptions.
- Rank Math: commission on paid plan purchases.
No other tool compared on this site pays us anything. This section is updated whenever that changes, and every page carrying one of these links names the programme in its own disclosure.
Regulatory basis
This disclosure follows the US Federal Trade Commission's Endorsement Guides, which require a material connection between an endorser and a seller to be disclosed clearly and conspicuously, close to the recommendation. For readers in the European Union it also reflects the transparency requirements for commercial communications. How we handle cookies and personal data is described in the privacy and cookie policy.
