Higgsfield alternatives: cheaper AI video and image options

By Giovanni Rasulo Updated Prices checked October 2026

Short answer

Higgsfield starts at €19 a month (Starter) and €59 a month for Plus (€47 billed annually), and its credits do not roll over. If you want a lower entry price, BudgetPixel starts at $10 a month with a free tier. If you want unlimited models plus upscaling, Magnific is the closest in structure. Runway and Luma publish video costs most clearly. Quality is not ranked here, because this site has not generated with these tools.

This is a documented comparison, not a test. Every figure comes from each tool's own pricing page, read in October 2026. Currencies are shown as the pages show them and are not converted. Higgsfield's prices exclude VAT and local taxes, which are added at checkout.

From each vendor's pricing page, October 2026. Higgsfield's page also shows a $3 one-time access offer (40 credits and 2-day unlimited Soul 2.0), which is a promotion and not a plan. Adobe's page showed euro prices including VAT; the others exclude tax. Leonardo's page has a yearly and monthly toggle and we could not confirm which price its default view shows, so $12 is the figure shown. Credits are not comparable across platforms.

Why people look for a Higgsfield alternative

The reasons that follow come from reading Higgsfield's own pricing page, not from user surveys.

  • No free plan. The page lists paid plans and a $3 one-time offer, so you cannot try a month for free as you can on BudgetPixel or Leonardo.
  • Credits do not roll over. Subscription credits expire at the end of each cycle, according to its FAQ. If your use is uneven, credit packs that last longer are a better fit.
  • Unlimited has conditions. It applies to named models, runs in the standard queue, can slow at peak times, and the page says unlimited models and free generations do not work through MCP, CLI, Canvas or Supercomputer.
  • The best models sit on the higher plan. Seedance 2.0 and access to all models are listed on Plus, not Starter.
  • Prices exclude VAT. The €19 and €59 figures are before tax, so the price at checkout depends on where you live.

The six alternatives

BudgetPixel: the lowest start and credits that last

One account for images, video, music and voice. The free plan gives 300 credits a month for personal use; paid plans start at $8.33 a month billed annually, and credit packs from $10 buy 10,000 credits that last 12 months. Commercial use starts at Premium. Its FAQ states all sales are final. The detail against Magnific is in BudgetPixel vs Magnific.

If you sign up through this link and start a paid plan, you receive bonus credits worth 30% of that plan's monthly credits, and so do I; they last 2 months. Try BudgetPixel (affiliate link).

Magnific: the closest in structure, with a refund window

Formerly Freepik. Premium is €16 a month (€12 annual) for 240K credits a year, Premium+ €36 (€27 annual) for 600K credits a year. Premium+ makes 20+ models unlimited and adds Magnific and Topaz 4K upscaling. Every paid plan lists a commercial AI license, and its pricing page states a 30-day refund guarantee.

Arriving through this link applies 20% off Premium and Premium+; Pro has no discount. See Magnific plans (affiliate link).

Runway: video cost stated in seconds

Free gives 125 credits once. Standard is $15 a month ($12 annual) for 625 credits, about 52 seconds of Gen-4.5 video or 78 Gen-4 images at 1080p, according to Runway. Pro is $35 ($28 annual) for 2,250 credits and adds an MCP. Purchased extra credits never expire.

Luma: price a clip before you buy

Plus is $30 a month for 10,000 credits with commercial use, Pro $90 and Ultra $300. Its pricing page publishes a cost table by model, resolution and audio, for example Seedance 2.5 at 720p is 78 credits a second.

Leonardo: a daily free allowance

Free gives 150 fast tokens a day; Essential is $12, Premium $30 and Ultimate $60 a month. Premium adds relaxed unlimited image generation on select models, and Ultimate relaxed unlimited video on select models.

Adobe Firefly: for Adobe users

Standard is €11.26 a month including VAT for 2,000 generative credits. It makes the most sense if you already work in Adobe apps.

Who should stay on Higgsfield

  • Anyone who wants Seedance 2.0 on a video-first platform. It is listed on Plus, and the alternatives name other models.
  • Anyone who uses its own site for most work. The unlimited models work on higgsfield.ai, which is where the limits on MCP and CLI do not matter.
  • Anyone happy with the output. This page compares prices and limits, not quality, so a price difference alone is not a reason to move.
