BudgetPixel vs Magnific: credits, models and what an output costs

By Giovanni Rasulo Updated Prices checked October 2026

Short answer

BudgetPixel is the only one of the two with a free tier (300 credits a month), with paid plans from $8.33 a month billed annually and credit packs with no subscription. Magnific starts at €12 a month billed annually with no free tier, but makes 20+ models unlimited on Premium+. Per output the two are in the same range, and the cost tables below show each in its own currency. Pick BudgetPixel to try and pay as you go; pick Magnific if you generate steadily on the models it makes unlimited.

This is a documented comparison, not a test. Every price and limit comes from each tool's own pricing page, read in October 2026; CheaperStack has not generated images or video with either tool for this page and publishes no quality verdicts. Magnific (formerly Freepik) shows euro prices to European visitors and BudgetPixel shows dollars, and the two are not converted into each other here.

From each vendor's pricing page, October 2026, excluding VAT. BudgetPixel was running a 30% launch discount on Nano Banana 2.1 until 20 October, and Magnific on Magnific One until 15 October; both are promotions and are excluded from the figures below.

What one output costs

Credits are not comparable across platforms, so the useful measure is the cost of an actual output. BudgetPixel lists a credit price per model on its API page; Magnific lists credits per clip on its pricing page. Using each platform's annual plan:

Credits and approximate cost for a 5-second Kling 3.0 Pro clip and a Nano Banana Pro image on each platform
OutputBudgetPixelMagnific
5 s Kling 3.0 Pro clip575 credits (115 a second), about $0.38 on Premium annual, $0.58 from a credit pack450 credits at 1080p, about €0.24 on Premium+ annual, €0.27 on Premium annual
Nano Banana Pro image120 to 180 credits, about $0.08 to $0.12 on Premium annual75 credits at 2K, about €0.045 on Premium annual
Nano Banana 2 image50 to 150 creditsUnlimited on Premium+
Value of 1,000 credits$0.76 Basic annual, $0.67 Premium annual, $1.00 in a pack€0.60 Premium annual, €0.54 Premium+ annual

Our arithmetic from the plan prices and credit tables, rounded; euro and dollar figures are not converted. BudgetPixel lists Kling 3.0 Pro per second without a resolution; Magnific lists 1080p, so the two are not strictly like for like. BudgetPixel's range for some models depends on resolution and length, so check the model before you run it.

How credits behave

  • BudgetPixel. A plan's monthly credits are refreshed each billing cycle and do not roll over. Credit packs last 12 months. Failed generations are not charged. Pro and Ultra add a 5% and 10% bonus on packs.
  • Magnific. Annual plans give all the credits upfront and they reset yearly. Monthly plans reset monthly and unused credits do not roll over, except when you upgrade or switch from monthly to annual. Magnific says it may change credit costs at any time.

The practical difference: BudgetPixel suits irregular use because you can buy a pack and leave it; Magnific's annual allowance suits steady use, especially on the unlimited models.

Assistants, API and limits

  • MCP. BudgetPixel lists an MCP connector for Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor, with the developer API and plugins for ComfyUI, WordPress and Cursor, all included in every paid plan. Magnific lists a Claude and ChatGPT MCP and an API for AI models on Premium+.
  • Concurrency. BudgetPixel allows up to 5, 7 or 10 video and audio generations at once on Premium, Pro and Ultra. Magnific lists 8, 16 and 48 concurrent generations on Premium, Premium+ and Pro.
  • Workflow. Magnific lists Spaces (a node-based canvas), a brand kit, plugins for Photoshop and Figma, and desktop and mobile apps. BudgetPixel lists a design studio, LoRA training from Basic and a community Arena.

Who should stay where they are

  • Anyone happy with a single model's own subscription. A multi-model platform only pays if you actually switch models.
  • Teams that need refunds. BudgetPixel states all sales are final, so test on the free tier first.
  • Heavy daily generators. Compare the unlimited models on Magnific with your actual model mix before choosing credits.
  • Anyone who needs legal certainty on AI image rights. Both put responsibility for third-party rights on you; see AI-generated images and SEO.
