Shopify blog SEO tools: AI blog apps compared on real prices
Short answer
A Shopify store has five realistic ways to get blog posts written with AI. Shopify's own built-in generator costs nothing extra but makes English drafts one at a time. Apps such as Essential AI SEO ($9.99 for 30 posts), StoreBLOG ($10 for 5) and BlogSEO ($19 for 25) sell volume cheaply. GrowGanic is $99 for up to 30 articles a month and adds research, scoring and daily rank tracking. A lower price per post says nothing about quality, so read the first posts before you scale.
This is a documented comparison, not a test. App prices and limits come from each tool's listing in the Shopify App Store, read on 24 October 2026; GrowGanic's from its own pricing page and documentation. CheaperStack has not generated posts with any of them, and app listings can lag behind the apps, so confirm the plan on the install screen.
The five, side by side
| Tool | Entry paid plan, monthly | Posts at that price | Free option | Listed extras |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Shopify built-in generatorIncluded with Shopify | No extra cost | One draft at a time | Included | English only; bulk creation, keyword optimization and SEO analysis not supported |
| Essential AI SEO | $9.99 | 30 generations | 3 a month | Bulk creation, AI images; $29.99 for 100, $99.99 for 300 |
| StoreBLOG | $10 | 5 posts | 2 test posts | Product embedding, SEO editor; $25 for 15, $40 for 30 |
| BlogSEO | $19 | 25 articles | 3 articles | Keyword research, Search Console link; $49 for 100, $99 for 300 |
| GrowGanicResearches, writes, scores, publishes, tracks | $99 ($79 billed annually) | Up to 30 articles | First article free, no card | Draft mode on Shopify, daily rank tracking, 3 sites |
App prices from each listing in the Shopify App Store, billed in US dollars, October 2026; GrowGanic from its own pricing page (US dollars; it shows euros in the EU) and documentation. "Generations" and "posts" are each app's own unit and are not the same thing as a published, reviewed article. BlogSEO's listing shows 2.6 out of 5 across 12 ratings. Essential AI SEO's shows 5.0 from 422 reviews. Ratings are the apps' reviewers' opinions, not our assessment.
What price per post tells you, and what it does not
By simple division, Essential AI SEO's entry plan is about $0.33 a generation, BlogSEO's about $0.76 a post, StoreBLOG's $2.00 and GrowGanic's about $3.30. That arithmetic ignores everything that decides whether a post is worth publishing: whether it is accurate, whether it links to the right products, whether anyone reviews it, and whether you can see how it ranks. The more useful question is what each tool does around the post. Then review every post: the eight-check routine applies to all five.
The five, one by one
Shopify's built-in generator
In the Shopify admin you add a blog post and generate a draft from a short description, with a tone you choose, and publish when you are happy. It is included with Shopify. Its listing says the AI generation covers English, and marks bulk creation, recommended topics, keyword optimization and SEO analysis as not supported. For a store that publishes a few posts a month and has the time to edit, it is the cheapest start.
Essential AI SEO, StoreBLOG and BlogSEO
Three Shopify apps built around volume. Essential AI SEO sells generations from $9.99 for 30 up to $99.99 for 300, with bulk creation and AI images. StoreBLOG sells 5, 15 or 30 posts a month for $10, $25 or $40 and lists product embedding and a guided SEO editor. BlogSEO sells 25, 100 or 300 articles for $19, $49 or $99, with keyword research and a Search Console connection. None of the three listings says that it tracks how a post ranks. We have not tested any of them.
GrowGanic
An autonomous SEO engine: add a domain and it researches the keywords, writes and scores the articles, publishes them to your site or a hosted blog, and tracks the rankings. Its documentation lists Shopify as a one-click destination, installed from the Shopify App Store, publishing to your store blog with meta fields set; draft mode is available on Shopify, and it publishes live by default. Its Shopify App Store listing, “GrowGanic: AI SEO Blog Writer”, launched on 14 October 2026 and says it publishes live or as drafts you approve. It has no backlink index. By its own account, the hosted copy of the free article stays out of Google until the plan is paid; connecting your store before the first article avoids that.

What is specific to a store
- Product facts must be right. A post that names a price, size, material or claim has to match the product page. That is check 2 in the review routine, and it is where AI posts go wrong first.
- Internal links to products. StoreBLOG lists product embedding. Check any tool's links yourself.
- Regulated categories. Supplements, cosmetics, children's and health products carry legal claim rules; do not hand those posts to any tool unreviewed.
- One blog, one voice. A store's blog is read next to its brand. Draft mode, where it exists, is worth switching on.
Who should keep writing the blog by hand
- Stores whose edge is expertise or voice, where a generic post does harm.
- Regulated or high-trust categories.
- Stores with a product page, tracking or offer problem. More posts will not fix it.
- Anyone who cannot review what is published. Unreviewed volume is the risk.
The verdict, by situation
| If you… | Look at first |
|---|---|
| Publish a few posts a month and can edit | Shopify's built-in generator |
| Want volume on a small budget | Essential AI SEO or BlogSEO, with review |
| Want product embedding in a guided editor | StoreBLOG |
| Want research, scoring, drafts and rank tracking in one | GrowGanic, first article free |
| Sell in a regulated category | Write it by hand |
Frequently asked questions
What is the cheapest way to get a Shopify blog written with AI?
Shopify's own blog generation is included with Shopify at no separate price, but it generates English drafts one at a time and its listing marks bulk creation, keyword optimization and SEO analysis as unsupported. Among paid apps, Essential AI SEO lists $9.99 a month for 30 generations, and the free plans of Essential AI SEO and StoreBLOG allow 3 and 2 posts a month.
Is a cheaper price per post a better deal?
Not by itself. A price divided by a post count tells you nothing about whether the posts are accurate, original or reviewed. Compare what each tool does around the post: research, scoring, product links, drafts, tracking.
Does GrowGanic work with Shopify?
Its documentation lists Shopify as a one-click destination, installed from the Shopify App Store, with articles published to your store blog with meta fields set. Its Shopify App Store listing, “GrowGanic: AI SEO Blog Writer”, launched on 14 October 2026 and says it publishes live or as drafts you approve.
Should AI-written posts publish straight to my store blog?
Start with drafts where the tool offers them. GrowGanic offers draft mode on Shopify and publishes live by default. Review facts, prices and product details before anything goes live; see our eight-check routine.
Who should keep writing the blog by hand?
Stores in regulated or high-trust categories, and brands whose voice is the product. If the real problem is product pages, tracking or the offer, more blog posts will not fix it.
