Yoast SEO alternatives: cheaper, free and multi-site options
Short answer
Yoast SEO Premium is $118.80 a year, excluding VAT, and each subscription covers one site. If you run one site, SEOPress PRO ($49 a year) and AIOSEO's Basic plan ($49.50 the first year, renewing at $99) cost less. If you run several, Rank Math Pro at $107.88 a year covers unlimited personal sites. The free plugins from Rank Math, SEOPress and Yoast itself cover the basics. Stay on Yoast if you value its bundled Local, Video and News add-ons or its 24/7 support on a single site.
This is a documented comparison, not a test. Prices come from each plugin's own pricing pages, read in October 2026, in US dollars where the vendor shows them; Yoast's page also shows euros and a currency selector. CheaperStack has not benchmarked these plugins on a live site.

From each vendor's own pricing pages, October 2026. Yoast's price is shown excluding VAT; the page lists its AI tools as beta. AIOSEO's pages show different figures for its higher tiers and mix currencies, so only the Basic plan is quoted here; confirm the price and currency at checkout. SEOPress Insights is sold separately, per site.
Why people look for a Yoast alternative
- Price per site. Yoast has no multi-site plan: a subscription covers one site, with a bulk discount whose amount its page does not state.
- The free version stops early. It checks one keyphrase and has no built-in redirect manager or social previews; AI tools, redirects and up to five keyphrases are Premium features.
- AI features are narrower and sold apart. Yoast's AI tools are listed in beta in Premium, and its AI visibility product is a separate plan, $358.80 a year per our Rank Math vs Yoast page.
- Renewal and add-on structure. Check what you actually use: the Local, Video and News add-ons, the Google Docs seat and the Academy are included, and may not matter to you.
The alternatives
Rank Math: unlimited personal sites for one price
The free plugin includes a redirect manager, schema generation and one focus keyphrase, and works on any number of sites. Pro is $107.88 a year for unlimited personal sites; Business at $335.88 covers 100 to 200 client sites. If you run more than one site, the unlimited tier is the number that settles it. See Rank Math Pro (affiliate link).
SEOPress: the lowest price for a paid plugin on one site
PRO is $49 a year for one site, $59 for five and $149 for unlimited, and its FAQ says the renewal price equals the price you paid. It has a free version. It does not match Yoast on bundled add-ons, so list the features you use first.
AIOSEO: first-year pricing, then full price
Basic is $49.50 for the first year and renews at $99 for one site, according to its pages; higher tiers cover 3, 10 and 100 sites. Its pricing page mixes currencies and does not state an annual total on the plan cards, so read the checkout screen carefully.
The free route
For a small site, the free plugins cover title and description templates, sitemaps and basic schema. Rank Math's free version also includes redirects; Yoast's does not.
Who should stay on Yoast
- One-site owners who use the bundle. Local, Video and News SEO plugins, a Google Docs seat and the Academy are included in the $118.80.
- Teams who value 24/7 human support. Premium lists live chat and email support at all hours.
- Anyone happy with it. Migrating costs time, and a plugin swap does not improve rankings by itself.
When the plugin is not the bottleneck
A plugin tidies the technical side; it does not write the pages. GrowGanic is an autonomous SEO engine: add a domain and it researches the keywords, writes and scores the articles, publishes them to your site or a hosted blog, and tracks the rankings. It is not a WordPress plugin, has no backlink index, and sits next to an SEO plugin rather than replacing one. Read your first article free (affiliate link).

| Use Yoast's Local, Video or News add-ons | Stay on Yoast Premium |
| Manage client sites | Rank Math Business |
